Christmas Holidays.       Deighton Manufacturing Director John Wade chose to holiday in Australia for the 2007 Christmas break.
John's been to Australia pursuing his passion sport of cricket on several prior Christmas seasons. However, 2007 saw John and close companion soaking up the Sydney sunshine and enjoying the new year Sydney Harbour fireworks display in pure holiday mode this time.

Our photo shows John visiting the Australian Reptile Park with friends, situated an hours drive to Sydney's north. "I don't mind patting them as long as they're dead" was John's response to making friends with the snakes, crocodiles and many dangerous spiders at the park.
Its hard to resist patting the kangaroos or koala's though John discovered.
John returned to a snowy and cold England sporting an Australian summer tan.

Deighton Winter Golf Tournament 2007

On December 19th 2007, 16 of the company’s top golfers gathered on a cold, damp day to partake in the prestigious Deighton Winter Championship. After a hearty breakfast of bacon sandwiches and coffee, the athletes proceeded to the first tee to take on the 6000 yard winter course at Rudding Park. Despite the conditions the standard of play was extremely high, the crowds gasping in awe at some of the shots produced by the entrants.

After an exhilarating day the final scores were in with Ian Royston taking the title with an astounding score of 47 points. John Wade, playing some unusually good golf, came in second with a personal best of 44 points, with Dave Bradey taking third place on 42 points.
